Expanding the People Trails

We celebrate the 21 miles of People Trails enjoyed by runners, bikers, walkers, those with special needs, commuters and more. The People Trails allow our community to participate in healthy activities as well as offer an alternative means of transportation for many. Help us to continue expanding Columbus People Trails by donating to the People Trail Fund!

Current Projects:

Haw Creek Trail Re-Route – The Haw Creek Trail is one of the longest and most used sections of People Trail.  However, the crossing at 25th Street from Everroad Park to Lincoln Park is dangerous to walkers, bikers and drivers.  Thanks to City-County partnership the old Newburn bridge has been installed near Hamilton Community Center and Ice Arena in  Lincoln Park, allowing trail users to following the trail south under the 25th Street bridge, continue along the east bank of Hawcreek and cross the Newburn bridge to the west side of Hawcreek River.  Pending the installation of a few safety necessary railings this trail connection will be open very soon!
